Hello, I will get my new 10Micron GM2000HPSII mount in the next few weeks. If someone has a 10Micron GM mount, I would be interested in whether you connected it to the PC via LAN or the RS232 connection? I would prefer the LAN connection. Greetings Enrico from Germany
Hi Enrico,
please use the LAN connection. It works flawless! I have the same mount
For further 10Micron questions, please go to the 10Micron forum. There you will geht help…

Hello Enrico,
LAN works absolutely without problems.
I have connected the mount to the PC via both (!) possibilities (but only one in use, so either, or), as a reserve, if one connection fails.
All the best,
Markus
Hello.
I was looking for that.
I didn’t know it was possible two connections.
Last weeks I have a problem never encountered:
The LAN connection is lost, or at least I imagine that.
Perhaps it’s not the LAN connection. I can still get the Virtual Keypad connected.
I’m not sure where to look for solving the problem.
Ascom? Voyager? LAN connection? PHD2 Guiding?
The voyager Window shows (translated from Spanish): “The RPC server is not available ( Exception of HRESULT: 0x800706BA)”
Any help??
Thank you

Hello!
I know this error message pretty well. It was the reason that I have additionally installed the serial connection.
I think that the whole thing comes from a LAN problem, because I always got the error, when the array connection broke off during my setup and also the weather sensor did not deliver any data anymore (via LAN). So nothing that Voyager could be responsible for. Since we could stabilize our network, this message does not appear anymore. I think that a very short interruption is enough to generate it.
There are people in the 10micron forum who use the serial and the LAN connection at the same time. In Voyager the question does not arise, because you can only define one type of connection in the setup.
But on the mount and on the PC connect both cables (serial and LAN), that works without problems.
All the best,
Markus
This is not a thing that depends on Voyager.
This was an error that some fix on firmware can help to mitigate, so contact 10Micron.
We also put this workaround but at your risk during sequence:
The real solution is to ask ascom driver developer to manage automatically in the driver the reconnection to the LAN.Reconnection automation software side is really dangerous because data mount can be not aligned to what is on the field
All the best
Leonardo
Thank you for your rapid answer.
But in the last year never happened, and now it’s almost every night.
For my understanding, is something physical? Do really the mount loss the LAN connection?
I’ll try your workaround as soon as possible.
Do you know the person who develops the Ascom driver for 10micron?
I’ll try to contact them !!
I think that there is no problem with the reconnection, as the Virtual Keypad keeps the connection and shows the good coordinates. I’ll give a try your tip!
Gracias
Fernando
Dear Fernando,
please refer to 10micron support for more info. I’m sure they can help you about.
For sure driver ASCOM lost connection to socket from mount server and do not have a reconnection system, we do a reverse engineering on this. can be cable, server firwmare in mount hw, router, switch , PC …
All the best
Leonardo
Thank you Leo.
I have just seen there is a new Ascom driver one month old.
I’ll give a try.
Thx Leo!!
