Last night was the best night yet for viewing and imaging Comet NEOWISE around here. It was a real treat through binoculars. I put my short focal length scope on it and shot about 25 min of exposures. Here’s what I got with that setup imaging from my driveway. I was happy to get the dust and ion tail together in this shot. There’s quite a bit of structure in both, which was exciting to see.
Despite this being a short total exposure and relatively simple capture, I’m certain it wouldn’t have been possible w/o Voyager. I had two other scopes setup waiting for nightfall as well, so while I was tinkering w/ framing and focus on this system, the others were flawlessly going about their business gathering more data. Thank you so much Leo (and Francesco) for putting together such a wonderful tool for us astrophotographers!
