Controlling a ZWO AM5 mount

Is anyone using a ZWO AM5 mount and Voyage. If so what is the configuration you are using?

Yes, I use the AM5 with Voyager. I use the “ASI Mount” ASCOM driver and all the defaults setting in Voyager. Is there something specific you are wondering?

Thanks for info. I got my system to work.

  • What type of telescope are you using with the AM5? Knowing the weight and focal length of your telescope will help determine the appropriate settings for tracking and guiding.

Hi, I hope this question hasnt been asked multiple times. It is a A5N question more than a Voyager one. I have a AM5N version 1.5.7 and Mount Controller 6.5.21.0. I am controlling it with Voyager via ASCOM so its windows based. I am unable to get Voyager to initiate a meridian flip. I have tried multiple settings with no luck. I set Voyager to flip at 2 mins past the meridian and have set the meridian halt limit in the mount controller to up to 15 mins past (max time in the drop down menu) but the mount always stops tracking at the meridian. I have read that this was how it worked originally but that has been addressed. I am assuming that since I have the time past meridian flip options that it should be fine but no luck so far. Any suggestions would be most welcome.

I use Voyager to control my AM5 at my remote observatory and my meridian flip in Voyager setup is set to: From scope position. Also it is set to: ASCOM Telescope/ASCOM.ASIMount Telescope. Perhaps check your Lat/Long to make sure it correct as well. In the ASI Mount software (Advanced check box) I have the Meridian Track Setting: STOP tracking 4’ after meridian.
This has work well for my setup.

Hi and thank you for replying. I have all the settings you suggest correctly set up. In your Voyager profile settings what do you have the meridian flip set to? I am assuming it is less than 4’. Kind regards Geoff

Sorry, you are correct it was 4" after meridian. I am installing my new AMSN next week, so I’ll check if I have the same problem.

Please let me know how you go if you dont mind.
