Experience ESATTO Focuser and/or Rotator with Voyager

Hello, does anyone have experience with ESATTO Focuser and/or Rotator and Voyager?

What do you want exactly know Enrico ?
Esatto work fine with Voyager like rotator and focuser, just use the latest drivers release where they have fixed some problems of compatibility

Hello, I have current drivers and firmware. But I keep getting “Focuser not reached the asked position !” and for the rotator “out of any tolerance, rotation requested”. Greetings Enrico.

Dear Enrico,

if your skyPA do not converge (SkyPA is a virtual rotation and not a real one and depends on your optic system) you need to invert the rotation versus using the flag Reverse (your driver must support this):

Hi Enrico,

As Leo pointed out, both Esatto and ARCO work fine with Voyager. Make sure you have the latest firmware updated via PL’s software called “PLAY” as well as the ASCOM driver.

As for the Rotator (in my case), I had to check “reverse” under the rotator’s settings to make it work.

Try to recalibrate via PLAY if the problem remains and do not hesitate to contact PL, they will be more than happy to support.

Aygen

I don’t think I understood the rotator setup yet. Is there a source/video somewhere that describes SykPA and Rotator PA for dummies? I just want the camera to be in the exact same orientation to the sky when I put it back on as it was before.

Hi Enrico,

you can search on the web about. This is not related to an automation sofware but to a personal skill of an Astrophotographer.

About Voyager some info here:

Many Thanks. I’ve already looked at all of that. But I’m not really smart about it. What settings do you recommend for the following scenario: I want to instruct the rotator in the script to always move to the same position (in relation to the camera chip and sky). So that I have exactly the same field of view with every new session (after removing and attaching the camera). Many Thanks

Hi Enrico,

use a SkyPA, you can get it from a planetarium of from the WebDashboard Virtual FOV at your pleasure.
