Guiding in dragscript

Just hoping to understand some of the dragscript commands relating to guiding. If I want to calibrate the guider as part of my dragscript, do I need to use the Acquiring Guide Star element first or is this done as part of the Calibrate Guide element?

Once calibrated, if I want to start guiding using the Guide Start element, do I need to use the Acquiring Guide Star element first or does the Guide Start element take care of guide star selection?

Thanks,

Peter

Hi Peter,

calibrate guide not need an acquire. Acquire star is needed by some guiding system and some guiding controls and must be asked before guide start.

Remember that if you use sequence the guide management is inside the sequence action, you can calibrate outside but if you want to guide during a sequence you must configure it in Sequence.

Thanks for that Leonardo. Just to ensure I understand:

  1. I don’t need to use acquire guide star for PHD2 when calibrating in the dragscript.

  2. Once calibrated from the dragscript, I assume I can just start guiding in the sequence - ie I don’t need to re-calibrate in sequence.

Is that correct?

Peter

  1. you don’t need to use acquire star in any case for calibration
  2. this is true if you have calibrated on the same meridian side or if you have a guiding system that can manage the change of meridian if is needed, otherwise leave the sequence to calibrate for you
