Rotator conection in TSX

Hello,
First time post here.
I’m trying to connect my Moonlite nightcrawler in TSX using Voyager.
In TSX I have both the focuser and rotator controlled via ASCOM and can connect both in TSX.
In Voyager, I have ASCOM selected and setup for the rotator.
When I press the connect button in Voyager, the rotator says its connected via ASCOM (in Voyager). When I go into TSX, the focuser is connected but the rotator is not.
What am I doing wrong here?

Thanks
Joshua

Hello and welcome

why you need to have rotator and focuser connected in 2 place ?
Anyway leave with all close and start for first Voyager to allow it to open all is needed, after connect TSX if you need. Otherwise start TSX like admin, Voyager work in admin mode because is a system integrator.

First of all be sure that your focuser/rotator ASCOM drivers can have more than one client connected because without this features you can connect thing only in one place.

Hello Leo,

Thankyou for your reply.
That is what I do, I leave TSX closed, and let voyager open what it needs. Both rotator And focuser are setup in TSX with Ascom but not conected (TSX is not even on at this point). I start voyager and conect equipment. It starts TSX and conect to the focuser but not the rotator (in TSX, however voyager has conected to the rotator in voyager itself).
I’m making the assumption that the rotator needs to show a connection in TSX for it to function. Is this not the case?

Thanks
Joshua

Hi Joshua,

if you use Voyager for automation remove from TSX and use direct in Voyager the focuser and rotator.

Hello Leonardo.

Okay, but i want to focus using @focus in TSX, ill just choose that in Voyager and let it connect its self. It is connected to the focuser in TSX only, so there are no issues there.

Best regards
Joshua

Hi Joshua, if you want to use @focus like autofocus in Voyager, you must setup focuser in TSX. Voyager in anycase doesn’t manage a rotator from TSX but only direct. In this case you can connect all in TSX and use a HUB or POTH to use rotator in Voyager if you need.

Thanks Leonardo,

It looks like all is working.

Hi Joshua,

thank you for the feedback

I am new to Voyager and have looked at the focuser/rotator setups. My question can voyager control both focus and rotation. I was hoping to use the RoboFire due to the outstanding reviews that I have read.

This question is specific to Moonlite Nitecrawler. Can Voyager control both focus and rotation?

Voyager manage all rotator/focuser with ASCOM driver that not using relative positioning (Except baader SteelTrack focusers that have not compatible drivers).

There are a lot of users having the Moonlite NiteCrawler in Voyager.
