I recently completed a shot of M101 from my back yard during the COVID-19 lock-down. I was able to get 20 hours on it this time, which helped to minimize the noise (although there was still a lot of it).
Voyager handled all of the data acquisition without a problem.

Rowland, the data is just LRGB. I used the arcsinh stretch function in PixInsight, which does a very good job of preserving color, to stretch the histogram. That might account for the prominent Ha.

Ah, that explains it! Yes, the arcsinh stretch is very cool. I’ve started using the masked stretch a lot more too, as it tends to do a nice job of keeping the background under control while bringing out the details.

Wow, the full resolution image in astrobin is crazy. Colors, tracking etc are excellent.
