My AstroImaging Planner

Hi @AstroGabe ,

If you need further tests or other info please let me know, I can share an image for you to inspect the headers or I can run specific tests if you want.

FWIW: I tried it on OSX and Windows and it produces the same errors, so it looks like the problem is my data.

Cheers,

José

Hey Jose,
Yes, some image files + Roboclip database file would be helpful to track this issue down. The logs are helpful in identifying where the issue lies, but not the root cause. With the files, it will be easier to track down.

Thanks!
Gabe

Hi Gabe,

Let me know if you need extra images or other info. I can grant you remote access to my PC if you want to run some tests.

Cheers,

José

Hey Folks,
I thought I had this running just fine. But now it is not working. Perhaps after I did the update. In Docker I can see the planner keeps starting and restarting.

Any suggestions?

Hi @AstroGabe ,

I am trying to run the latest version with no luck. I thought the problem was related to mosaics in my RC database but I am running the planner against a fresh Voyager install and the problems persist. I have created a sandbox where you can reproduce the issue, the zip file contains the planner code with a modified env.conf file, my roboclip db and 1 single fit file. I would appreciate any help or pointers.

Cheers,

José

According to the logs the issue is a broken SQL statement when trying to insert the data to the progress db.

Hey folks - is anyone running this on their Synology NAS?

I am not a Docker guru and am trying to figure out how I’d upload it.

Is anyone running this on an Eagle 4 pro? I followed the steps but docker throws up some errors with depreciated version of windows (despite not having windows updates available). Also an error with .net framework. The run-app flashed up and then disappears. The local host are doesn’t load.

HI!

I have installed and configured cme by instructions, the boot log gives me this error:

File "/usr/local/lib/python3.8/site-packages/redis/connection.py", line 557, in connect
    raise ConnectionError(self._error_message(e))
redis.exceptions.ConnectionError: Error 99 connecting to localhost:6379. Cannot assign requested address.

Hey folks,
Sorry for the long delay here. I’ve put on pause development of the Docker version of the planner app, and have been working on a standalone version that’s independent of Docker. If you have any questions about the Docker version, please send me a PM.

My goal with the standalone version would be to have an executable for Mac and Windows. It’s progressing quite well, and should include new things like:

  • Options for multiple fits file paths and databases
  • Ability to change settings within the web app
  • New metrics like fwhm tilt strength and direction measurements
  • Multiple profile distinctions in planner plots
  • Whole database downloads as xlsx or csv files
  • Improved target status handling and bulk status changes
  • Better file watcher, so a new file is processed immediately w/o lag
  • Frame gradient analyses
  • API to expose fits file status by target

I’m also considering making the standalone licensed as well. There seems to be a lot of interest in this from the folks in our WI area astro-imaging slack group.

That sounds very promising. I have to admit I gave up on the Docker version.
